The sun had set, casting long shadows across the city. The office was quiet, save for the sound of papers rustling and fingers typing on keyboards. Most employees had already left for the day, eager to get home to their families or unwind after a long day's work. But not Sarah and John. They lingered, exchanging playful banter as they tidied up their workstations.
Sarah had been noticing John for a while now. There was something about his confident demeanor and quick wit that drew her to him. And John, in turn, admired Sarah's sharp intellect and quick smile. They had become fast friends at the office, enjoying their casual flirtations and easy rapport.
As the last co-worker clocked out, John sauntered over to Sarah's desk. "Want to grab a drink?" he asked with a grin.
Sarah arched an eyebrow. "I thought you had a dinner date tonight?"
John shrugged. "She cancelled. Besides, I'd rather spend time with you anyway."..
