A mysterious woman in an ornate crimson dress sits beside an ancient crocodilian creature within the decaying halls of a forgotten palace. Her scarlet gown, black lace, jeweled ornaments, and elaborate boots create an unsettling contrast with the creature's ancient, almost ceremonial appearance.
But the beast is no mere guardian.
According to forgotten legends, it is the last living vessel of an ancient god that once ruled the waters beneath the world. For centuries it has waited in the ruins for the return of its chosen bride—the only mortal capable of awakening what sleeps beneath the palace.
The woman does not appear afraid.
Perhaps she already knows what the creature truly is.
Perhaps she is not its prisoner...
Perhaps she is its queen.
The artwork combines dark fantasy, gothic horror, ancient mythology, decadent aristocratic aesthetics, and surreal creature design, creating a scene that feels like a fragment from a forbidden legend.
They found the woman sitting beside the beast at midnight.
No one knew how she had entered the ruined palace.
The doors had been sealed for three hundred years, and every entrance was buried beneath stone. Yet when the expedition reached the throne chamber, she was already there—dressed in crimson silk, surrounded by dead candles and black roses.
Beside her rested the creature.
An enormous crocodilian demon covered in ancient armor, its pale scales scarred by centuries of ritual wounds. A strange golden eye had been carved into its forehead.
The explorers raised their weapons.
The woman simply smiled.
"You are too late."
Then the creature opened its mouth.
The sound that came from its throat was not a roar.
It was a voice.
A thousand drowned voices whispered the same word from somewhere beneath the floor.
Bride.
The stones began to tremble.
The woman slowly stood and placed her hand upon the monster's enormous head.
Immediately, black veins spread across its scales. The creature's body convulsed as something ancient awakened inside it.
One of the explorers screamed.
He had recognized the symbol carved into its armor.
It belonged to the Drowned God—the forgotten deity worshipped by a civilization that had disappeared beneath the sea.
According to the forbidden manuscripts, the god could not return to the world by itself.
It needed a human vessel.
A queen.
A bride.
The woman looked at the terrified men.
Her eyes had changed.
They were no longer human.
"For three centuries," she whispered, "I have waited for someone to open the door."
Behind her, the palace floor split apart.
Black water erupted from the abyss.
Something enormous moved beneath it.
The explorers fled.
None reached the surface.
By dawn, the palace had disappeared beneath a newly formed lake.
And on nights when the moon turns red, fishermen claim they can see a woman in a crimson dress sitting upon the ruins beneath the water.
Beside her waits the crocodilian god.
And she is no longer waiting for someone to rescue her.
She is waiting for the world to kneel.
